Queen Camilla was all smiles as she attended a dinner with the actress who played Princess Margaret in The Crown.
The Queen, 77, was pictured with actress and library president Helena Bonham Carter at The London Library on Tuesday night before guests enjoyed a dinner to highlight the library’s charitable work, which aims to support writers and widen access to the library’s vast resources.
Camilla, who is patron of the library, was seen chatting at the event with Helena, who played the late Queen Elizabeth II’s sister Princess Margaret in seasons 3 and 4 of The Crown series.
The Crown is a Netflix drama which looks at the historical events and occasional drama within the British Royal Family.
The pair were then photographed together at the library, alongside guest speaker Stephen Fry.
Since pictures of the pair together were released on Wednesday, royal fans have been sent into a frenzy.
One fan wrote on Instagram: “The Queen and Helena Bonham Carter. That’s awesome.”
Another said: “This is pretty cool.”
A third wrote: “Wow!!! It’s Helena Bonham Carter who played Princess Margaret in the Crown.”
One person questioned: “I always wonder how awkward it is for actors who played royals to meet royals.”
The Queen has supported the Library since 2012 and continues to champion the benefits of reading for people of all ages.
Queen Camilla’s passion for reading is shown throughout her overall royal work, with Her Majesty setting up The Queen’s Reading Room charity to celebrate and promote the power and benefits of reading.
The charity, which was formed from Queen Camilla’s book club, which launched in 2021, also helps to make books and reading resources available to people who want them.
