Queen Camilla has kick-started her summer holidays with her grandchildren by taking part in a blind ice-cream tasting session. The Queen, 78, reportedly took them to the Anya Hindmarch store, Belgravia, for an ice-cream tasting session.
Camilla, along with her five grandchildren Lola, Freddy, Eliza, Louis and Gus from her first marriage, tried a variety of the flavours according to a source, with the session costing £45 each. It is believed they had to guess the different flavours the parlour had to offer, which included some that were very uncommon such as olive oil and pickled onion.
It is believed Her Majesty takes her grandchildren on a special visit such as this at least once every year.
A source told The Sun: “Camilla and her grandchildren had a great time tasting all of the strange flavours.
“But Camilla didn’t fancy tasting the pickled onion ice cream.
“Afterwards she bought a lot of treats for her grandchildren and left with a scoop of Club Orange and another of Ovaltine, both for herself.”
It is believed that the Queen, who celebrated her birthday on Thursday, has a close relationship with her rarely seen grandchildren.
She once told the Daily Mail that her grandchildren call her “GaGa”, saying: “My own grandchildren call me GaGa.
“I don’t know if it’s because they think I am! It is funny but is still very sweet.”
She also once revealed that she likes to spoil the children whenever she can.
She told Vogue in 2022: “You know the nice thing about being a grandmother is that you can spoil them occasionally, give them more of the things that their parents forbid them to have.”
