Princess Kate's 'big mistake' during hospital stay after her mystery abdominal surgery

Princess Kate’s hospital stay came with an “enormous missed opportunity”, claims one royal expert.

The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic on January 16, with Kensington Palace issuing a statement about her stay the following day.

The 42-year-old had undergone “planned abdominal surgery” and was expected to remain in hospital for up to a fortnight.

According to a statement by Kensington Palace on January 29, the Princess of Wales has now been discharged and has “returned to home in Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery”.

Taking to her article for news.com.au, royal commentator Daniela Elser pinpoints one mistake Kate made in her stay – one that stands her apart from King Charles.

The Palace revealed minimal details in the statement, adding that they would only share more if there was anything new and significant to update on.

Ms Elser continued: “No one who is not in the Middleton family chat knows exactly what is troubling the mother-of-three and I can’t help but think that the princess has wasted an enormous opportunity here.

“Kate could possibly have made a huge difference this month and she has chosen not to.”

The King’s statement meanwhile went into much more detail about his health complaint, revealing that he was going into hospital for treatement on a benign enlarged prostate.

Within 24 hours of the King’s diagnosis being revealed, the official NHS website’s page about enlarged prostate “surged to 16,410 visits”.

Princess Kate will now continue her recovery at home with her husband Prince William and their three children in Windsor.

The mother-of-three also won’t return to royal duties until “after Easter”, according to the Kensington Palace’s statement from January 17.
