Prince William has been dubbed a “top bloke” by royal fans this week after he was spotted at one unexpected drinking haunt.
The Prince of Wales, 42, took people by surprise on Wednesday when he popped into a Wetherspoons pub in Birmingham after a royal engagement.
The future King further wowed punters when he brought a round of drinks for eight fellow Aston Villa fans before the away match against Everton.
He even treated himself to a Bulmers cider and spent time chatting with the fans ahead of the big game, which he is believed to have watched when he got back home to Windsor.
After pictures of the prince emerged on X, formerly known as Twitter, royal fans were quick to gush at the site of William in one of Britain’s most famous drinking establishments.
One fan wrote: “Prince William at Spoons, getting a round in, before catching the train home. Top Bloke.”
A second said: “Up the Villa! Prince William is a great bloke, at Spoons, getting in a round before taking the train home. Get in!”
A third wrote: “Prince William going into spoons is everything I needed in life.”
Another commented: “Imagine having a beer with Prince William in a Spoons before an away day! Class.”
After William stopped for the cheeky pint on Wednesday, one of the fans who enjoyed a drink with William revealed what the prince was really like.
Steve Jones, 56, said: “He was fantastic. I was quite amazed about how engaged he was with the club, his interest.
“He’s not a fair weather fan. He really loves the club with a passion. We spoke about the club, the transfers, the pending Champions League trip to Monaco, and all things Aston Villa.”
