The Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly can’t understand one thing about Prince Harry following his decision to quit royal duties in 2020. It comes as Princess Kate reportedly has zero plans to reach out to Prince Harry for peace talks, choosing instead to stand by her husband, Prince William.
According to US Weekly, it has been stated Prince William and Kate “just don’t understand why Harry doesn’t stay quiet” after his royal exit.
Kinsey Schofield, host of the ‘To Di For Daily’ podcast, told Fox News Digital that the royal couple feel differently. She said: “Catherine has been nothing but supportive of her husband – and that’s exactly why Prince William is so deeply hurt.”
She added: “His pain doesn’t come from personal insults or headlines. It comes from his instinct to protect the woman he loves… But what cuts the deepest is Harry’s treatment of Catherine. She’s always loved him, always treated him like a little brother. That’s the betrayal William won’t forget… But Harry never seems to think about the consequences.”
Most recently, Prince Harry spoke to BBC America following the legal loss against his UK security arrangements. The King’s youngest son sought to challenge the original decision by High Court judge Sir Peter Lane in February last year, which determined that the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) was right to remove his high-level police protection while he’s in the UK.
In the ruling in May, Sir Geoffrey Vos, Lord Justice Bean and Lord Justice Edis dismissed Harry’s appeal. Sir Geoffrey Vos summarised the decision and told the court that while the Duke of Sussex’s personal arguments were both “powerful and moving”, he concluded that: “I could not say that the Duke’s sense of grievance translated into a legal argument for the challenge to Ravec’s decision.”
Prince Harry publicly spoke to the BBC following the legal battle, in which he said he was “devastated” at losing a legal challenge. He also said the King “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff”, but that he did not want to fight any more and did “not know how much longer my father has”.
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stepped back as senior royals and moved to California in 2020.
Since their departure, the couple have aired their grievances in interviews, podcasts and through Harry’s 2023 bombshell memoir ‘Spare’ which reportedly caused further estrangement between the prince and his family.
In his book, Harry laid accusations about the Royal Family and spoke of his sibling rivalry with William, heir to the throne.
In addition, in 2021, Meghan claimed to American TV host, Oprah Winfrey, in a televised interview that it was Kate who made her cry leading up to her wedding in 2018.
