Piers Morgan, 54, has been very vocal about his disapproval of Love Island 2019 and the Good Morning Britain presenter’s latest tweet seems to show he hasn’t changed his tune on the programme. The outspoken star shared a clip from ITV2’s official Twitter page in view of his six million followers this morning, which featured some of the girls in the villa discussing geographical locations. The video showed Joanna Chimonides, 22, Belle Hassan, 21, and Jourdan Riane, 24, chatting about European cities after Anton Danyluk’s beau admitted she didn’t know Edinburgh was in Scotland. Following a great deal of confusion amongst the girls, Jourdan confidently informed Belle that Barcelona was not in Rome, but was located in Italy.
Belle replied: “Oh I thought it was Spanish”, as her revelation left both of her pals looking baffled.
In response to the girls’ general knowledge blunder, Piers added the caption: “Even watching this has damaged my brain”, alongside three see-no-evil monkey emojis.
The TV personality’s followers took to the comments section of his post to share their thoughts about the funny clip from the reality show.
One wrote: “Barcelona is in Italy wow that’s a surprise I thought it was in Iceland.”
Another insisted in reference to the Islanders: “They have to be mucking about.”
A third remarked: “The confidence of the girl who says Barcelona is in Italy.”
A fourth hoped Piers would bring up the moment on Good Morning Britain, adding: “Will be funny on GMB tomorrow.”
A fifth joked: “I’ve always avoided this programme. But maybe there is some entertainment value!”
Piers previously spoke out about Love Island favourite Tommy Fury, 20, on Good Morning Britain.
The presenter was less than impressed by the boxer’s recent admission in the villa that he can’t cook and struggles to even make hot drinks.
Addressing Tommy’s surprising lack of culinary knowledge, Piers said on the ITV daytime show: “Have we got the clip with the tea making?
“I love Tyson Fury but honestly this is his half-brother… Halfwit… He literally can’t make a cup of tea.”
The video showed former contestant Sherif Lanre, 20, trying to explain how to make a cup of tea to Tommy.
Piers then went on to rant about Tommy’s romantic interest Molly-Mae Hague, 19, due to her profession as a social media influencer.
He added: “She does Instagram, ‘I do social and now I do Instagram’. Her career is: ‘I do social’.
“‘I was in the gym, I was a little gym bunny but now I do social’.”
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
