Money Mail’s savings expert Sylvia Morris has won a prestigious prize for her work.
This section was also highly commended as Consumer Money Title of the year at the ‘Oscars’ of personal finance journalism.
Sylvia was named Savings Journalist of the Year at the Headline Money Awards last week. Judges said Sylvia was a ‘clear winner’ and praised the ‘amazing thoroughness’ of her stories.
One judge commented: ‘Sylvia digs beyond the surface with insights and great expertise.’
Money Mail narrowly missed a second award for Consumer Money Title. One judge said: ‘The section is relentless in defending readers’ interests. Its investigative journalism is superb.’
The independent panel also praised Money Mail’s Stop The Bank Scammers campaign. Banks began working on a new system to trace stolen money last year.
