Novak Djokovic confirms coach ahead of French Open as Andy Murray split addressed | Tennis | Sport

Novak Djokovic has confirmed that Dusan Vemic will work with him for this month’s French Open following his split from Andy Murray. The two all-time greats ended their four-month partnership this month, after the Serbian has struggled for form since reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open.

Vemic, 48, is a former professional player who himself played in the French Open. He’s previously been part of Djokovic’s coaching staff and will work alongside Boris Bosnjakovic, his assistant coach and analyst. Djokovic made the announcement during his press conference at the Geneva Open, ahead of his opening match with Marton Fucsovics tomorrow.

However, he also stressed that compatriot Vemic will not serve as his full-time trainer, and insisted he would not be rushed into any decision. He said: “At the moment, I’m not in need of a coach.

“I don’t need to rush in any context. I feel comfortable with the people around me….in the next few tournaments, and we’ll see what happens.”
