He also had at least thirteen kids with six different women, telling them he was a secret agent.

In fact he was just an IT worker , who faked letters from the deputy Prime Minister and passes to military bases to feed his web of lies.

Mary has compared her shocking story to hit BBC drama Mrs Wilson, the true story of war-time spy and bigamist Alexander Wilson.

She told the Daily Record: “Watching the series has been very like looking at my own story.

His lies were rumbled when another wife rang her in 2006

“I met William online when I was a single mum with a nine-month-old baby. He was very charming.

“We started dating and he actually asked me to marry him within two weeks of meeting – I said, ‘No’, but we did eventually get engaged then we were married for four years.

“After six months of being together, I fell pregnant, which was a huge surprise because he told me he was infertile.”

William told her he was a CIA agent on secondment with the MoD, and said he needed to travel away a lot on “missions”.

In reality he was actually visiting his other wives and families.

Once he convinced her his enemies had made a threat towards their daughter, Robyn, who is now 19-year’s old.

She handed over £200,000 to pay them off – but this, too, was a lie.

Mary said: “I thought if we didn’t give them money, they would kill the kids. I was living in abject error.”

But his sham was exposed in April 2006, when she received a phone call from another Mrs Jordan.

He was jailed for bigamy, illegal possession of a stun gun, fraud, and a raft of other offences.

William served two-and-a-half years of a five-year sentence, before being deported to the US.
