A COUNCILLOR has been suspended after he despatched a snap of a topless girl to a bunch of moms throughout a gathering on knife crime.
Mohammad Maroof, 50, faces a probe for forwarding the picture to members of Mums United.
They have been presenting a petition to a full council assembly on blades when the married Labour councillor despatched the message on WhatsApp.
He mentioned he meant to connect a video he had taken of the group’s founder, Sahira Irshad, giving a speech to the council in Sheffield.
However when he went into his picture gallery he says he chosen the incorrect picture and despatched the bare snap.
Mr Maroof mentioned: “I’ve a variety of respect for the group. I’m very embarrassed and this was an sincere mistake. It was solely there for a second.”
He mentioned the pic was despatched to him earlier on a unique message.
A bunch of moms shaped Mums United to cease youngsters falling into gangs. One mentioned: “It says quite a bit when girls in his space are crying out for assist and he’s posting this.”
Labour chief Julie Dore, who ordered his suspension, mentioned: “This can be a very severe matter.”
