NO matter how many unlikely cleaning hacks you may have hidden up your sleeve, nothing spells disaster quite like a permanent marker scribble.

Well if you’ve got any aspiring artists at home that like to use the living space as their blank canvas, we’ve got some great news for you.

It turns out that a £1 Cif cleaning product works miracles at removing even the worst of permanent marker stains – and one mum has got the evidence to prove it.

Posting on incredible before-and-after photos on the Facebook group Mums Who Clean, the Australian woman was originally horrified when her son scribbled all over a white wooden door in permanent marker just days before her landlord came over for an inspection.

Asking the group’s 115,000 members for advice, the woman wrote: “I NEED HELP!

“We have a house inspection next week and [my son] has decided he would do some decorating. It’s permanent marker.”

Luckily, a £1 Cif cream cleaner removed the stain in no time[/caption]

Much to her horror, the five-ingredient “miracle spray” which made the group famous earlier this year only seemed to make matters worse.

Even a spritz of hairspray – which has been known to get rid of permanent marker on sofas – failed to work its magic on this unsightly stain.

Luckily for the mum, the group’s fellow cleaning fanatics were quick to recommend Cif’s original cream cleaner which is infused with microcrystals.

With just a little bit of elbow grease, this multipurpose product took the permanent marker squiggle “straight off” without even damaging the paint underneath.

Better still, this miracle product – which contains micro crystals derived from limestone and can be used all over the home – will only set you back £1.

Unsurprisingly, other members of the group were similarly blown away with the instant results.

One replied: “I know what I’m keeping stocked in my cupboard from now on…”

Don’t mind us, we’ll just be making an emergency dash down to Asda…

For more incredible cleaning hacks, this woman got her filthy oven door sparkling in minutes by using a damp newspaper and ash from her fireplace.

And this mum used tomato ketchup to clean the grime off her bathroom drain – and the pictures speak for themselves.

Plus this woman got her grease-stained hob looking as good as new using a five-ingredient “miracle spray”.
