HALLOWEEN costumes can be expensive, but one mum has saved pennies after mastering how to make a seriously impressive DIY outfit for her child’s Halloween party.
Taking to Facebook to show off her skills, the mum revealed how she used just glow sticks, a glue gun and sellotape to achieve the spooky look.
“Halloween costume was a winner,” she wrote on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains group.
“Black leggings and T-shirt (already had) pack of glow sticks were £1.99 in B&M, mask was £10 off eBay.
“Used a glue gun and sellotape… For the mask, I just typed into eBay ‘LED Halloween mask’.”
The mum also shared a hilarious video of her child dancing at the party in the glow-in-the-dark outfit.
And other parents were seriously impressed, with several hoping to try it out themselves.
The post has since had almost 10,000 likes with over 2,000 comments and shares.
One wrote: “Thank you for this idea, I have just bought a glue gun on Amazon, going to have three happy boys!”
While another said: “Awesome my kiddo will love this idea thank you.”
Other mums explained they had tried the DIY style themselves last year.
“I did this for my girl last year with glow sticks with reflectors on the dress it was brilliant,” said one.
While others agreed it looked “wicked” and was “an awesome idea”.
It’s not the only impressive DIY Halloween costume we’ve seen recently.
One mum dressed her son as Pennywise the clown, re-creating Stephen Fry’s character from It – and even parents have said they’re frightened by the chilling outfit.
The mum shared her horrifying handiwork to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, where it’s racked up 28,000 likes.
She revealed she managed to make the costume on a budget, spending little more than £20.
