Man Utd confirm £50m transfer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka on FIVE-year deal worth £80,000-a-week from Crystal Palace

MANCHESTER UNITED have announced the £50million signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace on a five-year deal.

The 21-year-old right-back becomes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s second capture of the summer after the tactician spent £15m on Swansea winger Daniel James earlier this month.

And Wan-Bissaka, 21, who has played just 42 games in his senior career, will pocket a £80,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford, EIGHT times more than he earned at Selhurst Park.

United were made to work hard for Wan-Bissaka’s signature, with Palace initially reluctant to part ways.

But after agreeing a whopping £50m fee, the England Under-21 international is now at the Theatre of Dreams and ready to help United climb back up the Premier League table.

Wan-Bissaka was pictured at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester after having a medical.

The move is a dream for the defender, who supported United as a youngster.

And it caps off a remarkable rise for Wan-Bissaka, who has been transformed from a shy kid at Crystal Palace’s academy to the modern day Ashley Cole.

At  £50m Aaron Wan- Bissaka is the FIFTH most expensive player in United’s history.

The hope is his stay at Old Trafford offers a lot more than those four that lie above him — Paul Pogba £89m, Romelu Lukaku £75m, Angel Di Maria £59.7m and Fred on £52m.

At just over £275m, those four can hardly have been regarded as value for money.

Solskjaer will be delighted to be closing on a right-back after prioritising strengthening that position.

United eye him as a first-team regular and it will see veteran Ashley Young fall down the pecking order.
