On Tuesday it was revealed Sherif Lanre had left Love Island in agreement with ITV bosses as he had “broken the rules”.
The islander has since spoken out about his exit revealing he was called to the Beach Hut to talk to directors.
The 20-year-old explained he had accidentally kicked Molly-Mae Hague in the groin during a play fight.
But he insisted he checked Molly-Mae was okay and she “seemed fine and we started laughing about it”.
Sherif explained following the incident he wasn’t given the chance to say goodbye to his fellow islanders leaving him feeling like a criminal.
He said: “I think they got me up two hours earlier than everyone else. I think it was abut 12.30pm.
“There were two directors and they asked me to explain myself.
“I told them we were just messing around but they said I had broken the code of conduct and it had been decided by someone high up that I had to leave.
“I was shown a straight red card.”
Sherif added to The Sun: “I was sent home without the chance to pack my bags or say goodbye to the other contestants.
“I was treated like a criminal over a simple mistake.”
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Love Island for comment.
Meanwhile, as details of Sherif’s exit have been revealed, many fans of the show have called for Maura Higgins to be axed.
The 28-year-old has set her sights on Tommy Fury and the pair enjoyed a date on Thursday’s episode.
However, the following night she infuriated viewers when she tried to kiss the boxer.
After Maura asked if he wanted a kiss from her, Tommy sternly replied “no” before turning his head away.
The ring girl kissed him on the cheek and fans have called for her to be booted out for her behaviour.
Taking to Twitter, one fan shared: “So if Sherif’s behaviour towards Molly was unacceptable and not correct in the villa. Then please tell me why Maura is allowed to stay in for forcing her self onto Tommy?!?!
“Double standards and definitely not okay #loveisland.”
Another added: ““So Sherif got kicked out for accidentally kicking Molly-Mae in the groin and then making a joke about it.
“I hope Maura is being kicked out for forcing a kiss on Tommy. No double standards in 2019 pls #LoveIsland.”
Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
