ITV2 series Love Island kept fans gripped last night (Thursday, July 11) after there was a recoupling and a dumping as one Islander was sent home. Love Island saw some fireworks between some of the contestants after it looked like there could be a couple of love triangles forming. Here are our highlights from yesterday’s episode of Love Island.
A major recoupling took place
Following the arrival of Chris Taylor and Francesca Allen, there was a recoupling in which the girls chose who to be with.
There was no surprise when Molly-Mae Hague chose Tommy Fury and Joanna Chimonides chose Michael Griffiths.
Anna Vakili chose to couple up with Jordan Hames after she realised her feelings for him and broke things off with Ovie Soko.

Francesca Allen coupled up with Curtis Pritchard
But the most controversial moment in the recouping came at the start when Francesca chose to couple with Curtis Pritchard despite Maura’s feelings for the ballroom dancer.
Maura previously expressed her disdain, saying she would leave the villa if Francesca chose Curtis in the recoupling.
After the recoupling, Maura even joked with Curtis that she could sneak into his bed when Francesca fell asleep.
WHO WAS DUMPED FROM LOVE ISLAND?
Marvin Brooks gets sent home
Marvin Brook was dumped from the villa after he was left single in the recoupling.
Maura was left upset as she had to choose between Marvin and Chris, breaking down after revealing her choice.
Speaking about why things didn’t work out with Maura, Marvin afterwards said: “I have no idea why it fizzled out!
“We just went our separate ways and I think that may have been because of the problems Amy [Hart] and Curtis were having, who she had her eye on.
“She gave me the opportunity to come into the Villa and in this recoupling, she gave someone else an opportunity by coupling up with them.”
WHO ARE THE NEW COUPLES AFTER THE RECOUPLING?
Amber Gill and Michael Griffiths had a moment
Although Amber and Michael are no longer an item, there is still chemistry between them as the heart rate challenges proved.
Amber spoke to Michael and apologised for laughing when she revealed the results which showed she raised the firefight’s pulse more than his partner Joanna.
The pair seemed to have made their peace and Michael seemed happy with Joanna but Jordan later remarked the couple had very little in common.
Could a reunion between Amber and Michael be on the cards?
