LIVERPOOL are in talks with Stoke about signing Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Switzerland star has a release clause of around £13.5million and the Potters are resigned to losing their talisman after relegation from the Prem.

Shaqiri, 26, is seen as a quality back-up to Kop boss Jurgen Klopp’s front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
The former Inter Milan and Bayern Munich player is desperate to stay in the top flight.

He said recently: “Of course, I would like to play on the biggest stage in football. Everybody knows that.”

Manchester United have also shown interest in the ex-Bayern Munich ace.

Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho has already signed one midfielder in Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred, while Liverpool brought in fellow Brazilian Fabinho.

Shaqiri told Sky sports last week: “I want to stay in the Premier League, and you will find out my new club soon.”
