LIVERPOOL and Chelsea could be set for a bidding war for Alisson after Roma reportedly agreed to lower their asking price.

The Brazilian goalkeeper was outstanding last season as he helped the Italian club reach the Champions League semi-final.

Those displays led the Premier League giants plus Real Madrid to be linked with a swoop for the 25-year-old.

Roma’s £70million valuation quickly cooled the interest of Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the Serie A side now seem open to lowering that fee.

And that could spark a huge auction between the Reds and Blues as they battle to bring the stopper to England.

Chelsea have Thibaut Courtois, who should line-up for Belgium against England in the World Cup Third Place play-off today, as their No1.

But the ace continues to be linked with Madrid, where his young family still live, and speculation was mounting over his future.

He only has a year remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge and it was claimed the Blues could be tempted to cash in and replace him with Roma’s South American.

And Jurgen Klopp seems determined to bring in another new No1 to finally solve Liverpool’s goalkeeping woes.
