After much internet fanfare, KFC has announced that it is officially bringing Cheetos Sandwiches to locations across the US for the month of July.
The chain first teased that it was testing the item in a few lucky locations in North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia earlier this year, but the special Crispy Colonel fried chicken sandwich topped with Cheetos puffs and Cheetos sauce proved so popular that customers will be able to order them nationwide starting July 1.
But the sandwich — which includes fried chicken smothered in Cheetos-flavored sauce, a layer of mayo, and a helping of actual Cheetos snacks packed between the buns — is only available for a limited time.
Nom nom: KFC will be selling a Cheetos fried chicken sandwich across the US for one month starting July 1
Load up! KFC is also hosting a pop-up event in NYC on June 27 that will include exclusive menu items like Cheetos-fied hot wings, macaroni and cheese, and loaded fries
‘For years, people have been creating their own versions of a Cheetos-fied sandwich at home, and now the fried chicken experts at KFC are launching the Cheetos Sandwich across the U.S. and giving fans the cheesy, crispy crunch that they’ll love,’ the brand said in a press release.
‘Both KFC and Cheetos have dedicated and passionate fanbases, so it only made sense to merge these two iconic brands together to provide an irresistible and flavorful sandwich that offers the best of both worlds.’
In honor of the launch, KFC is also hosting an ‘All Orange Everything’ pop-up event at the KFC on 14th Street in Manhattan on Thursday, June 27.
From 4pm to 8pm, those who drop by can try the sandwich, as well as other exclusive menu items like Cheetos-fied KFC Hot Wings, which are topped with Cheetos sauce and dust.
Yum! The cheesy-tasting sandwich already has customers excited

There will also be Cheetos Loaded Fries (also with Cheetos sauce and dust, as well as a helping of bacon) and Mac and Cheetos Bowl made with popcorn chicken, Cheetos sauce, and Cheetos dust.
Back in January, news broke that the sandwich would be available in Greensboro and Raleigh, North Carolina, Roanoke and Richmond, Virginia, and Greenville, Georgia — and fans lost it.
‘You don’t need to test that Cheetos sandwich, we already want it,’ wrote one Twitter user.’
‘This is what dreams are made of,’ wrote another.
