Kate Garraway, 53, excited fans with a glimmer of hope in a Sunday Instagram post ahead of this morning’s Good Morning Britain. The TV presenter teased there would be “some smiles” in the morning, leaving many wondering whether she had positive news about her husband Derek Draper, who is still in hospital after battling coronavirus.
Taking to Instagram yesterday evening, she reposted a photo from her co-host Adil Ray, where he exclaimed how much he wanted to hug her after all she’s been through.
“Well saved @adilray – think hugs are out but we can recreate a socially distanced version of this slightly demented selfie – will that do you!?!” she wrote in response to his sweet caption alongside a picture of the two of them.
“Looking forward to seeing you and everyone on @gmb tomorrow. All the news you need – and there’s a lot of it right now – and some smiles because we all need that too right now don’t we.”
And while she didn’t confirm anything too concrete, fans wondered whether tomorrow’s update would be a momentous one.

Most recently, her GMB co-star Andi Peters said that it’s been “amazing” to have Kate back on set after her three-month absence.
He said: “It’s been amazing having Kate back on the telly. Genuinely it has made me smile and you can see when she is doing some item, they are so close to home.”
“But again, the beauty of ITV Daytime, if Kate looks upset, we don’t hide that.”
He continued: “She’s going through a horrific time but to come back, she’s so strong. The viewers don’t mind if she looks upset. We’ve all just loved having her back.”
