Jet2 has announced that it is “monitoring the situation” across several popular holiday destinations following an electrical power outage on Tuesday, April 29.
The UK’s leading tour operator said earlier on Tuesday that its teams were “closely monitoring” the events after Spain and Portugal experienced significant power disruptions. In their latest statement, Jet2 shared: “On 28th April there was an electrical power outage which affected Mainland Spain and Portugal. Our teams have been closely monitoring the impact of this, and at present, all Jet2.com flights are operating as normal today (29th April).”
They added: “Should there be any changes, we will provide further updates here and we will be in contact with you via SMS and email. Check-in will close 40 minutes before your scheduled departure so please arrive at the airport at least two hours before this time.”
The company also advised: “Please make sure your contact details are up to date in Manage My Booking. We will continue to monitor the situation and release further information as soon as possible.”
Additionally, Jet2 reminds travellers to consult the travel information section of its website “at least 12 hours” before their scheduled flight. They emphasise: “Further information can be found by using the above search panel by entering your flight number or route.”
Guidance continues with a recommendation for passengers to arrive at the airport with plenty of time: “We recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure time. Please remember – check in desks close 40 minutes before this.”
It adds: “In the event of flight disruption our dedicated Operations teams are working hard behind the scenes at our UK-based HQ to get you on your way as soon as possible.”
