Inter Milan confirm transfer approach for Man Utd striker Lukaku after £75m ace returns to training pitch
INTER MILAN have confirmed they have made an official approach to Manchester United for Romelu Lukaku.
Officials from the Serie A giants held talks with their Red Devils counterparts on Thursday over a transfer deal for the 26-year-old striker.
Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio met chiefs from Old Trafford.
And he has confirmed negotiations have begun for the £75m-rated Lukaku.
Ausilio said: “It was an official approach between two important clubs.
“We’ll see what happens.
“All the players we’re following are targets we’ve agreed with Antonio Conte.
“We want to satisfy his request within certain financial parameters.”
Inter are keen to bring the Belgian hitman to the San Siro on a two-year loan with a view to an obligation to buy.
However, United are only willing to sell permanently and want at least £75m for the ex-Chelsea, West Brom and Everton powerhouse.

Despite pleas from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to stay, Lukaku wants to leave the Theatre of Dreams due to feeling undervalued.
Marcus Rashford was preferred in attack during the second half of last season.
And the England star’s bumper new contract is a clear signal that he is likely to start this campaign as the main man again.
Lukaku is currently in Australia with his team-mates on their pre-season tour.
But he sat out training yesterday and underwent some rehab work but he will be back in the squad for Saturday’s friendly against Perth Glory.
