Holly Willoughby: Dancing On Ice host praises co-star after crowning winner
Holly Willoughby, 37, stunned in pink on the final series of Dancing On Ice 2019, which saw James Jordan scoop the win on the big night. However, the beauty took the opportunity to thank one particular star and it was not the winner but her beloved co-presenter Phillip Schofield. Taking to her Instagram stories, the star uploaded a snap stood alongside Phillip, with a caption that read: “Love this guy @schofe”. The pair donned their outfits from the big finale, with Phillip looking dapper in a black and white suit with a bow tie.
Holly looked every inch the Disney princess in a blush floor-length pink gown.
Her admission comes just hours after the blonde bombshell was cheekily shut down by champion James Jordan after he performed an Argentinian Tango on ice.
After the former Strictly dancer had suffered a shoulder injury ahead of the final, he seemingly appeared to not want too draw to much attention to it after he told Holly he didn’t want to talk about it after she brought it up on the show.
James began by discussing performing the Argentinian Tango, saying: “It’s something kind of from my world, but it’s so much easier on the floor not on the ice.”
Holly then said: “And you’ve been nursing an injury.”
James then interrupted Holly, saying: “I am, but I didn’t want to talk about it.”
However, she did not stop there as she continued: “I know but you’ve been such a trooper and you’ve been amazing with it.”
Phillip added: “That’s the first time we’ve seen the routine all the way through tonight.”
Despite the injury, James went onto be crowned champion of the ice rink on tonight’s final, beating Wes Nelson and Saara Aalto.
Meanwhile, Holly’s co-star took to Instagram to give fans an inside glimpse of the wrap party following the show.
The Dancing On Ice host filmed himself as he moved the camera around inside the packed marquee.
At one point, the This Morning star panned the camera around stopping just in time as filmed contestant Gemma Collins who smiled and waved into the shot.
The pair seemingly appeared in high spirits following the show finale.
It comes after it was reported the TOWIE star and judge Jason Gardiner will be kept apart backstage in a bid to avoid any confrontation.
A source told The Sun: “Gemma and Jason will be kept separate so they won’t be crossing paths backstage tonight. There is still no love lost between them.
“They’re dressing rooms are on opposite sides of the venue so hopefully there won’t be any more explosions between them.”
Express.co.uk have Gemma, Jason and ITV representatives for a comment.
