She has recently starred in two blockbuster movies.

And following the wrap and release of Captain Marvel and Crazy Rich Asians, Gemma Chan took some down time with her family as she attended the St Regis hotel opening in Hong Kong on Tuesday.

The actress, 36, and her parents were holidaying in southeastern China and spent a few days at the luxurious new hotel following its launch this week.

During the opening evening Gemma stunned in a dazzling white feathered dress, which featured semi-sheer sections as well as panels of diamond patterned fabric.

She teamed the look with a pair of pointed strappy heels in the same hue, offering her statuesque frame some extra inches as she posed for snaps.

The Crazy Rich Asians star showcased her natural beauty by adding light touches of make-up to her pretty features, including a pink glossy lip.

Gemma wore her dark ombre locks in a natural loose style, while accessorising with a pair of dainty hoop earrings.

Gemma’s mother looked equally stunning in a floor-length shimmering green gown while her dad looked dapper in a grey two-piece suit.

Documenting their family trip on Instagram, Gemma shared a selection of snaps from the hotel opening as well as of a boat trip on the Star Ferry.

Gemma explained in the caption that they were on the ferry between Kowloon and HK Island that her father and grandma used to take to work.

Last year Gemma starred in box office smash Crazy Rich Asians, where she played Astrid Leong-Teo – a super-rich Singaporean heiress.

She revealed during a chat with GLAMOUR UK that she was subject to racial stereotyping in the past and was told she sounded ‘too English’ for roles.

However the Captain Marvel star admitted it hasn’t deterred her from pursuing her acting dreams, she said: ‘It just makes me more determined to do what I do.

‘That’s why it’s so important for a film [like] Crazy Rich Asians to come out and challenge and subvert people’s ideas of what Asian people are like or perhaps what women are capable of.’
