A savvy home chef has shared a “flu bomb” recipe, alleging that it can helo to alleviate your cold within “three days.”

Now that winter is here, our chances of catching a flu or cold are much higher and many individuals are opting for homemade remedies to combat their ailments.

For those eager to shake off the annoying symptoms of a flu, this “flu bomb” might just be the ticket.

The remedy took social media by storm when TikToker @heyitsvara demonstrated the recipe, beginning with two garlic cloves thrown into a blender.

The brainchild behind the potion, Barbara O’Neill, claims this mix can help to tackle most sicknesses in a three-day timeframe.

However, it’s essential to note that NHS guidance indicates colds tend to linger around a week in adults and older youth, extending to two weeks for the younger ones.

This viral blend also embraces a piece of ginger, turmeric, a dash of lemon juice, honey, piping hot water, and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper. Once whizzed up, all these components are transferred into shot servings.

Commentary from the TikTok community has introduced tweaks and preferences on how to perfect the recipe even further. One commenter advised: “You should always add black pepper corns as it activates the turmeric and helps your body absorb it.”

Meanwhile, another suggested: “This is a great mixture, I also use it. Just don’t add boiling water, it breaks down the healing properties of the honey.”

It’s crucial to stress that while the “flu bomb” has its advocates, it isn’t a stand-in for official NHS advice, which says you cannot cure a flu with home remedies or over-the-counter treatments.

Instead, patients should get ample rest and sleep, as well as staying =warm.

Take paracetamol or ibuprofen for aches and pains. If your child is distressed or uncomfortable, give them paracetamol or ibuprofen – but make sure to check the packaging or leaflet to ensure the medicine is suitable for your child.

If you’re unsure, consult a pharmacist or GP. To avoid dehydration, drink plenty of water (your urine should be light yellow or clear).

For those wishing to prevent the spread of flu, it’s recommended to wash your hands frequently and cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of used tissues as quickly as possible.
