Two become one: A meal and a film is always a winning combination. Get 30 per cent off mains at Frankie and Benny’s when you show a cinema ticket, whether it is from a chain or an independent theatre. Meanwhile, Odeon has teamed up with Harvester to offer 20 per cent off your food bill. All you have to do is download the Harvester app and present your ticket.

SAVE: 30 per cent on main courses

No place like home. Prefer a night in? Marks & Spencer’s Dine In For £12 is running every day until Christmas. But Tesco’s Finest meal deal is still slightly cheaper as you can nab a side, main, dessert and drink for a tenner. You could head to the DVD aisle to get two films for £8, usually £5 each or, it is worth noting that you can get three months of Sky Cinema with Now TV for 33 per cent less at the moment, costing you £23.99 for three months (£8 per month) instead of £11.99 a month. It will auto-renew at that price after three months, so remember to cancel it and look for new offers.

SAVE: £2 on food and a film

Game on. Head to The Works for a bargain games night. It has some great board games on offer – The Big Bang Theory trivia game is £7.50, down from £17.49. For an even cheaper option, download a quiz app. Viral guessing game HeadsUp! costs just 99p.

SAVE: £9.99 on a board game

New tricks. Check out Groupon for fantastic deals on mini golf, escape rooms and cooking lessons. I found a two-person escape room experience for £39, reduced from £79. Similar deals are available at buyagift.co.uk and you can get £10 off your first booking if you sign up to its newsletter. You could book a three-course meal with a glass of wine for two at Prezzo for just £30, with the £10 off that is dinner for just £10pp.
