Dad-of-four, 34, tragically dies after fracturing skull on stag-do | UK | News

A young father died after hitting his head and fracturing his skull on a stag-do. Alex Jones, 34, from Birmingham , fell into the coma after the incident in Liverpool on March 28 left him with three brain bleeds.

He sadly died on April 10. The electrician, from Kings Heath, left behind his partner, Paige, and their four children, Daisy, Riley, Taylor and Skye, aged one to 14. His sister, Beth Horridge, started a GoFundMe campaign to support the family, raising more than £17,000 at the time of writing.

Speaking to Liverpool ECHO, she said: “The fundraiser is amazing… the amount of people and money we have raised has been out of the world and we most definitely didn’t expect such a high number.”

Reflecting on her sibling’s life, she added: “Alex was the joker of the family forever playing jokes, making us all laugh. He loved life and he really did light up any room he walked into, he was the best dad to his four children and the best partner to Paige and his four children.

“Alex was the main breadwinner in the relationship with his own business. We set up the fundraiser to help Paige and the children to adapt to life without Alex and his income also to help the family give him the best send off as Alex was so young and a funeral is something we have never discussed.

“As a family it has left a huge hole in all of our hearts and the world will never be the same without him. I can’t even begin to share the hurt we are all experiencing at the moment.

“He most certainly was the best big brother, son, dad, partner, just an amazing man. I know people say it – but he really did not deserve this.”

Writing on his GoFundMe, she added: “Alex was a vibrant, kind-hearted person who lit up the lives of everyone around him. As a devoted partner and father, he was always there for his family—whether it was playing with Daisy, Riley, Taylor, and Skye, supporting Paige, or being the rock they could all lean on.

“He was also a cherished friend, known for his wild personality and love for a pint of beer, often bringing laughter and energy to every gathering he attended. His loss has left a void that words cannot describe.”

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “A 31-year-old man from Birmingham remains on bail for s18 wounding and enquiries remain ongoing.”
