Manchester City are currently second in current season standings with 80 points after 32 games played.
Liverpool are currently top with 82 points but have played one more game than the Manchester club.
If Man City do win today, their time in first place could be short lived.
That is because Jurgen Klopp’s side play later, meaning if they win they could overtake Man City again.
Gary Neville recently praised the rivalry between Guardiola and Klopp as the two managers continue to fiercely compete for the most illustrious trophy in English football.
During an appearance on Sky Sports, he said: “We are witnessing two brilliant managerial performances, on and off the pitch.
“With Pep Guardiola, we are witnessing an amazing title race, the two teams play the right way, the managers perform the right way, and I have to say, from our point of view, it is brilliant to watch, even though it is painful for me. Both teams are carrying themselves brilliantly.
“For Pep Guardiola, he wants to create history. The way Liverpool have performed this season, this would be a far bigger achievement this year to win the league, than last year.
“As incredible as what City did last year was, to win it this time, back to back, do it a second time, against a Liverpool side performing as they are would be incredible. For Liverpool to beat a City side performing as they are, would be astonishing.”
In contrast, Crystal Palace are currently 12th in Premier League standings and will hoping to cement their position in the middle of the table with a vital home victory today.
