CORONATION Street star Jack P. Shepherd’s young son is following in his dad’s footsteps and has already appeared on the telly.

The actor – who plays David Platt in the ITV soap – is being followed into his career by young son Reuben who has landed a role in a television advertisement.

Reuben – who takes acting lessons at the 13 Performing Arts School founded by Jack and ex-fiancée Lauren Shippey – has just bagged his own commercial.

Proud mum Lauren shared footage of Reuben, five, playing part of a family group in the ad for Yorkshire furniture firm HSL Ltd – which specialise in sofas, chairs and beds – when it was first aired this week.

She wrote on Instagram: “It’s Reubs!!”

The little lad filmed the commercial in April but it has only just been screened.

She shared a snap of the lad giving the thumbs up to the camera after he’d completed the job and wrote: “Filmed a commercial yesterday, he’s now just waiting for Spielberg to phone.”

Jack and Lauren – who have also have a daughter, Nyla – split in 2017 but he is still connected with the stage school.

The David Platt star now lives with ITV colleague Hanni Treweek and the lovers are just back from a holiday in Mykonos with Reuben and Nyla.

The couple also share three tiny dogs that are frequently posted on the actor’s social media accounts.

He too began acting at a young age and has starred in the soap for two decades as Gail Platt’s youngest child.
