A British tourist has left viewers stunned after revealing the stunning Benidorm penthouse apartment he secured for merely £20 per night during his latest getaway. Whilst exploring new destinations is thrilling, having a peaceful retreat to unwind in at day’s end remains essential for many travellers.
Whilst basic necessities such as a bed and bathroom – perhaps with breakfast included – are all that’s truly required, there’s no shortage of affordable accommodation options for those seeking a holiday. The standard of these budget lodgings can, however, be rather hit and miss. Yet, one Briton named Grumet White appears to have struck gold with accommodation, taking to social media to showcase the remarkable penthouse he discovered in Benidorm for just £20 nightly, reports the Mirror.
He went on to suggest it demonstrates you needn’t “spend thousands to stay in big posh hotels”. The four-bedroom flat – featuring a bar, television, bathroom and wraparound balcony offering spectacular views – sits right in the centre of the Spanish holiday destination.
In a viral TikTok clip, which has already amassed more than 83,000 views, Grumet and his pal opted to provide followers with a comprehensive tour of the wallet-friendly penthouse.
The footage begins with two single beds and a bathroom containing a shower, before showing a compact kitchen equipped with a sink, hob, refrigerator and storage space. There’s also a comfortable lounge area with a sofa and television, two additional beds and even an integrated bar.
Outside, Grumet relaxes in the sunshine whilst his companion displays the expansive wraparound balcony overlooking Benidorm.
“This is a penthouse as well, a penthouse we’ve got,” the 48-year-old, from Middlesbrough shared. “The size of it, come to Benidorm, I’m telling you.”
He continued by suggesting that spending thousands at other well-known Benidorm hotels, such as The Ambassador or The Presidente, means you’re ‘just paying for the names’, arguing the accommodation is compact considering the cost.
“It’s unbelievable how big this is,” Grumet said about his penthouse. “You’re right near the beach as well, about a minute away. “Amazing, isn’t it?” he added.
The Playmar Apartments, where the pair lodged, boast a 4.6-star Tripadvisor rating, with rates beginning at merely £20 per person. Commenters were swift to commend the undiscovered treasure.
“It’s better staying in apartments, I think, than hotels. They’re on Wednesday, can’t wait,” one individual remarked, whilst another commented: “Looks great and such a great price.”
A third observer noted: “Pretty Payma apartments, it’s mint tbf.” [sic].
“Love Benidorm,” someone else remarked, whilst another viewer simply stated: “Stunning.”
