Boris Johnson To Remain In His £20million Taxpayer-funded Mansion For ‘weeks’ Despite Resigning As Foreign Secretary

BORIS Johnson will remain in his £20million taxpayer-funded London mansion for “weeks” despite resigning as Foreign Secretary, it was claimed last night.

The 54-year-old quit his role 12 days ago but is refusing to budge from the luxurious Carlton Gardens property which is just yards from Buckingham Palace.

According to the Mirror, he was seen leaving the mansion with two large suitcases and his wife Marina Wheeler is believed to still be inside the home.

He has been slammed after Downing Street confirmed that he could remain inside the building for “weeks”.

It comes after he reportedly made thousands from renting out a property in Islington, North London, while he lived in Carlton Gardens for free.

Grenfell Tower survivor Aalya Moses, 57, described his decision to stay there as “outrageous” and “disgusting, while Labour MP David Lammy said it highlighted a “serious class problem”.
