Arsenal waiting on three-man domino effect to sign exciting winger | Football | Sport

Arsenal could be waiting for a three-man domino effect at Bayern Munich before they discover whether they can sign Leroy Sane. The Gunners have been linked with the German winger this summer after missing out on the Premier League title once again.

Arsenal have been in the mix for Premier League glory for the last few seasons, but have fallen short each time. And manager Mikel Arteta is under pressure to find the missing part of the jigsaw. Sane has already proven he has what it takes to light up English football, having starred for Manchester City between 2016 and 2020. And he has gone on to bag 61 goals and 55 assists in 220 appearances for Bayern.

Sane, 29, is out of contract at the Allianz Arena this summer but has reportedly been offered a new deal.

However, he is yet to sign the contract and will be able to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of June unless he puts pen to paper.

Bayern are aiming to conduct transfer business of their own this summer, with AC Milan winger Rafael Leao said to be high on their wish list.

According to Foot Mercato, Bayern will tempt Milan into selling the Portugal international by offering the Italian club around £63million in exchange for his services.

Munich have already submitted an offer for the 25-year-old but have been forced to return with an improved package after the initial bid was rejected.

And Munich are also prepared to include a player in the deal, with Milan only willing to consider either Leon Goretzka or Kingsley Coman to sanction Leao’s departure.

The German club are continuing to discuss the transfer with Leao’s entourage in the hope of getting a deal over the line.

Sane may be watching to see how the domino effect plays out before he decides whether to extend his stay at Bayern, with Arsenal waiting in the wings.

The Gunners are in desperate need of firepower in front of goal after struggling in the final third at times last season.

Arteta’s side found the back of the net 69 times in the Premier League but failed to score more than one goal in 18 of their league clashes.

And not one player managed to hit double-digit goals in the top flight, with Kai Havertz finishing as the side’s top scorer in the league with nine goals, despite the fact that he missed 14 games through injury.
