Argos drops price of Samsung’s best earbuds but Amazon has a better deal

As Black Friday kicks into gear – it’s now pretty much a sales event that runs throughout all of November – we are beginning to see major savings on some of the latest and greatest technology. What tends to happen is you see the same prices for specific discounted items across retailers, so it’s notable when one seller beats another for price.

That’s exactly what has happened with Samsung’s latest flagship wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. It caught my eye when I saw both Argos and Currys have the white or silver buds reduced from £219 all the way down to £149 – but Amazon beats them both at £129.73 for the white pair.

Amazon lists it as a “limited time deal”, which is what the retailer does regularly with offers, but it doesn’t tell us when it’ll end. It adds a certain urgency to snapping up a deal if it’s one you’re tempted by, so make sure to consider if it’s really one for you before being caught up in Black Friday hype.

If you are after new earbuds then this is an excellent price for the newest in-ear buds from Samsung.

I tested them out when they launched last year and found they pair best with a Samsung phone to get all the features seamlessly working, but they will also play nice with any other Android phone thanks to the availability of the Galaxy Wearable app. They’ll even pair with an iPhone, though Apple users will be better off plumping for AirPods.

Maybe Samsung knows this, as the firm went rogue with the design of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, very much adopting the design popularised by the AirPods Pro. In either white or silver, the buds stand out thanks to strip lights down the stem of each, used to indicate charging and battery life in some scenarios.

The angled heads of the buds are designed to fit better in a wider range of ear sizes, with several tip sizes in the box too.

The buds boast great active noise cancellation (ANC), 360 audio and improved sound quality over older generations thanks to beefier drivers. Galaxy AI ensures adaptive noise control tweaks the sound of your tunes to the ambient sound around you, resulting in more balanced audio, according to Samsung.

You can use the companion app to adjust EQ, while newer updates offer things such as language translation and the ability to talk to Google Gemini for everyday tasks.

If this price is still a little too steep for your budget, Amazon has also discounted the Nothing Ear A, a fabulous pair of buds, down to just £59 as part of its early Black Friday tech sale.
