Love Island 2019 star Amy Hart, 27, left the show earlier this week after being dumped by AJ Pritchard’s younger brother Curtis Pritchard, 23. Now, AJ, 24, has revealed Amy sent him a private message ahead of their first meeting tomorrow. Spilling all on Talk Radio, he said: “She spoke to me. She sent me a message actually afterwards and said she feels like she knows the family and she could only praise Curtis about being honest.
“I will see her on Sunday I will be doing Aftersun [Love Island’s spin-off show] so I will see Amy and the other cast.”
Amy and Curtis enjoyed a four-week romance in the villa, with Curtis branding Amy his “half-girlfriend”.
After a show shake-up which saw Amy and the girls move to Casa Amor for a few days, Curtis admitted his head had been turned by model Jourdan Riane, 24.
But, the latter coupled-up with Danny Williams, 21, instead.
Curtis then told Amy he didn’t see a future with her, prompting Amy to leave the show days later.
Professional dancer Curtis has since coupled-up with new girl Francesca Allen, 23.
Discussing his brother’s actions, AJ admitted his brother had been “harsh” towards Amy.
He added: “Sometimes he was maybe a bit too brutally honest.
“He could have let her down a bit softer rather than saying ‘yes, I don’t see myself marrying you and having kids with you’. That was harsh, I’m not lying, it was harsh.”
“But it’s better to be honest. Rip that bandage off. I think it was best to be straight because you don’t want to play with people’s emotions,” he added.
AJ Pritchard previously said his brother Curtis’ “downfall” is being too honest.
Speaking on Jeremy Vine yesterday, he said: “He says his feeling out loud and wears his heart on his sleeve… it’s his downfall.”
In another interview this week, AJ’s mum Debi also revealed it was AJ who encouraged Curtis to go on the show.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning, she said: “Curtis rang me one day and said, ‘A researcher has rang me and they’ve asked me to do this dating programme.'”
She then said Curtis called AJ for advice on the topic.
Recalling AJ’s response, she said he replied: “‘No, if he’s going to do a dating programme, he has to go big. Do Love Island.’”
Love Island: Unseen Bits continue tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
