AJ Pritchard: Lauren Steadman makes promise to Strictly pro ‘For the rest of your life…’
AJ Pritchard and Lauren Steadman have been inseparable after being teamed up on Strictly Come Dancing 2018, with romance rumours quickly circling. And now the Paralympic athlete has spoken of her promise to the professional dancer, 24, as she gushed about their time together. The 26-year-old took to Instagram today and spoke out in view of her 84,000 followers, branding him her knight. She called her time on the BBC programme “amazing” as reflected on how he had encouraged her throughout.
“It’s our last show…” Lauren had started before taking to the stage: “I’m going to miss dancing with this man @aj11ace.
“He’s been like a night in shining armour… let’s go have one final blast!”(sic)
Then, following their last ever performance together, the triathelete continued: “Yesterday ended an amazing past six months with Strictly Come Dancing!
“It really was one of the greatest opportunities of my life and I have loved every moment, made friends for life and grown as a person.”
Turning her attentions to AJ, she said: “Thank you to everyone who supported my journey… I feel very grateful and blessed! @aj11ace you will be missed but I promise to pester you for the rest of your life…
“A great friend, the best teacher, loads of memories, and I feel lucky to have been partnered with you!”
Lauren then went on: “You encouraged me, pushed me, and best of all you believed in me… we started our journey not knowing where we’d end up and we managed to inspire a whole country and push boundaries! Semi Finalists!”
Her words were accompanied by a cosy snapshot of the pair, with her flashing her pins in a barely-there fringed outfit.
He held her onto her waist while dressed all in black, complete with a sparkly, short-sleeved top.
Meanwhile, Lauren went on to upload an “Appreciation Post” with a picture of her and Taz Talai.
She added: “Thank you to my management team @areteltd @sb_arete @ol.clarke for being the absolute best and supporting me to the end of the world!
“But a special thanks to @taz_talai for keeping me in check the whole time, never missing a thing and for making my whole experience as wholesome and smooth as possible!#shesawesome Thanks Guys!”
AJ also took to the picture-sharing app to post a photo of the duo, as he looked forward to the future.
“The Final 2 Shows @theo2london…” he wrote. “Honestly loved this Tour, but so excited to start rehearsals for @getonthefloorlive.”
He later added a picture of him and fellow pro Jake Leigh, supposedly at loggerheads but all was not as it seemed.
AJ captioned it: “I will miss preforming this iconic number on Tour every night .. #Believer Professionals Dance @jakeleigh__”
