Those who are still looking to book their summer getaway may want to look towards North Africa, with two countries in this region being revealed as the most affordable destinations. Both Morocco and Tunisia have topped the list for the most budget-friendly all-inclusive holidays.

New research, conducted by online travel agent loveholidays, has revealed that Morocco offers the cheapest all-inclusive holidays for families, with packages averaging £81 per person, per night, across all star ratings. Following closely behind Morocco was Tunisia, with similar holidays coming out at £88pppn on average. Both countries are also the top two for all-inclusive holidays for couples, looking for a romantic getaway this summer.

The researchers looked exclusively at five-star options for couples, with Tunisia coming in cheapest with a seven-night stay and flights costing an average of £123ppp. While similar holidays in Morocco for couples average a cost of £138pppn.

And these weren’t the only North African countries on the list, with Egypt also appearing on the list for couples, coming in at number four with an average cost of £143pppn.

Morocco

Morocco is an affordable option for both couples and families. Visitors can opt to stay in the country’s capital city, Rabat, or book a stay in other stunning parts of the country, such as bustling Marrakech, coastal Agadir, or historic Essaouira.

From camel rides in the Agafay desert and hikes through the Atlas Mountains, to relaxing with a cocktail or picking up some great deals in the medinas, Morocco is a great destination for whatever way you wish to spend your holidays.

Tunisia

With stunning beaches and ancient historical sites, Tunisia is yet another budget-friendly option, whatever your holiday plans. The popular town of Hammamet, where there are plenty of all-inclusive hotels available to book, has even been dubbed the Saint-Tropez of North Africa thanks to its energetic medina and star-studded nightlife.

Other popular destinations in the country include the capital city of Tunis, perfect for those wanting to enjoy a coastal city break or to visit some historic sites, and beautiful Sousse, which is famed for its glorious beaches.

Commenting on the analysis, Al Murray, Chief Marketing Officer at loveholidays, said: “For many holidaymakers, value for money is a top priority when planning their next trip, which is why all inclusive holidays are fast-becoming the go-to choice.

“North African destinations like Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt offer a huge range of affordable, great quality all inclusive resorts, making them a top choice for cost-conscious couples and families alike this summer.”
