Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a major new hire as the couple seek to bolster their team, the Daily Express understands. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have expanded their communications team after they added PR agency Method Communications to their roster and appointed Emily Robinson as their Director of Communications.

Method was reportedly retained by the Sussexes’ chief communications officer, Meredith Maines, in order to support them in their “growing business portfolio and philanthropic interests”, Forbes initially reported. Ms Robinson has 20 years of experience in entertainment publicity, brand development and strategic communications, while she has previously worked with Netflix.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s representatives have been contacted for comment.

It comes just a few weeks after Meghan Markle appointed Sarah Fosmo, 45, as her first chief of staff and Harry promoted Lianne Cashin, a former executive assistant and Archewell’s head of operations, to a “senior consultant” after his last chief of staff, Josh Kettler, quit.

A source told Forbes: “The expanded comms support for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex comes at a time of tremendous growth and success in various business and philanthropic endeavours.”

A spokesperson for the couple said: “Chief Communications Officer Meredith Maines has retained the global firm Method Communications to bolster her team overseeing the growing business portfolio and philanthropic efforts of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“Method is an integrated PR and marketing agency specializing in high-growth tech and consumer brands. The Sussex team also recently welcomed Emily Robinson as Director of Communications. Method is serving an an extension of that team.”

The Sussex PR team also includes senior-level communications executives Kyle Boulia and Charlie Gipson in Los Angeles and London, respectively.

The Sussexes’ latest hire was praised by a TikToker who dubbed it a “major power move”.

The Notorious J.T.B., who regularly comments on Harry and Meghan’s news and has tens of thousands of followers on TikTok, said on his social media: “Meghan and Harry just made another major power move. New hires, new strategy, same unstoppable energy. The empire isn’t coming… it’s already here.”

Meghan is thought to be focusing on her various business ventures like her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and her podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder.

Meanwhile, Harry is said to be continuing to “focus on the intersection of business and philanthropy”.

The latest news follows various claims against the Sussexes regarding their staff’s tenure and their “apparent inability to attract and retain the right staff”.
