The chat also took place the day after Zara’s 44rd birthday, which occurred on May 15.
With the conversation then turning to his wife’s birthday, he added: “It was her birthday yesterday and I truly spoiled her by bringing her to the world-class Belfry.
“She got to hang out with 70 people she only sees once a year, it was exactly what she wanted for her birthday”.
Taking to social media last week, Mike posted a sweet tribute to his wife. Alongside a picture of the pair of them, Mike wrote: “[party-popper emoji] Happy Birthday to the better Tindall. She’s even let me play golf on her birthday!”
The couple met in Australia in 2003, with the pair now proud parents of three children – Mia, 10, Lena, six, and four-year-old Lucas.
On July 30, 2011, Mike and Zara exchanged vows in Edinburgh. The couple wed just three months after the Prince and Princess of Wales.
More low-key compared to other royal weddings, the ceremony was followed by a reception at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
