Households who are looking for a new broadband deal and want to enhance their at-home viewing experience are in luck, as Sky has brought back its ‘lowest price’ deal on one of its most popular packages, but not all of them. The Essential TV & Full Fibre 150 Broadband combo provides access to Sky Broadband and a variety of television channels and apps, including Sky Stream, Sky Atlantic, Netflix and Discovery+.

The Sky deal costs £35 a month with no upfront costs and is available to new customers. However, it’s worth noting that Sky says prices may change during the 24-month contract. The Sky Essentials TV package costs £15 per month when purchased separately, while the Full Fibre 150 Broadband is priced at £28 a month, so it gives combo shoppers a saving of £8 a month – that’s £192 less than if you were to take out the two on their own.

Sky’s Full Fibre 150 Broadband is recommended for streaming in HD, online gaming and video calling, offering an average speed of 150 Mb/s. Full Fibre is described as ‘the future of broadband’ and is being rolled out across the UK, as unlike traditional broadband, Full Fibre is powered by a fibre cable direct to individual homes, providing a ‘faster and more reliable connection’.

The Essentials TV plan includes subscriptions for a standard Netflix account (with ads), which usually costs £5.99, and access to Discovery+ Basic, usually priced at £3.99. This totals £9.98, meaning everything else included in the £35-a-month Essential TV & Full Fibre 150 Broadband basically comes to a total cost of £25.02.

Sky isn’t the only provider that offers Netflix as part of its TV packages. EE includes access to the streaming platform in its plan as part of its broadband and TV package, however this is a higher price. Households that are tied to a different provider can still access Sky channels, with both Virgin Media and NOW TV offering some Sky channels as paid add-ons.

It should be noted that Sky’s Essential TV package doesn’t offer the most value when it comes to streaming TV, as the Ultimate TV deal priced at £22 a month provides access to over 35 extra channels when compared to the Essential TV option, but that doesn’t include broadband. For households who don’t require all of these channels and want Full Fibre Broadband, then the Essential TV & Full Fibre 150 Broadband package is ideal.
