Netflix adds 'best action movie ever' as fans can't wait to see what happens in part two

Netflix has just added a ‘cinematic triumph’ from the ‘best action franchise ever’ ahead of its eagerly awaited sequel later this year.

The streaming giant has just made Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning part of its constantly evolving library.

It is the seventh instalment in the Tom Cruise led franchise that kicked off back in 1996 and the third to be co-written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

McQuarrie previously penned the scripts for The Usual Suspects and Edge of Tomorrow as well as helming 2012’s Jack Reacher which also featured Cruise.

Dead Reckoning was initially promoted as Part One of a two-part film project, with it being filmed back-to-back.

Now renamed, Final Reckoning and expected to be the finale for the series as a whole, will finally hit cinemas later this month. That means there’s no better time to get up to speed with the story so far and Netflix just made it that little bit easier.

While it was a box office sensation, raking in more than $570 million it was also a hit with critics. Boasting a 96% rating on website Rotten Tomatoes, it makes it the second highest rated film in the series, trailing only its immediate predecessor Fallout by a single point which achieved 97%, reports Surrey Live.

In the latest spy thriller, Dead Reckoning, Tom Cruise’s iconic Ethan Hunt returns alongside his IMF teammates in what’s touted as their most perilous mission to date. Tasked with locating a horrifying new weapon poised to threaten humanity, the team races against time, crisscrossing the globe to prevent the device from ending up in the wrong hands.

Amidst battles with previously unseen adversaries and haunted by ghosts of his past, Hunt’s commitment to the mission grows ever more unshakeable, dwarfing even the safety of those he holds dearest.

Cruise’s familiar cohorts Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson are back, while Marvel stars Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, and Pom Klementieff make their debut in this action franchise.

The movie has generated a wave of positive reactions from audiences worldwide. One enthused viewer exclaimed on social media, “Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning is absolutely amazing, a genuinely incredible film. Mission: Impossible might just be the best action franchise ever.”

Another fan praised, “This franchise has been around for 30 years, consistently delivering top-notch entertainment. Tom Cruise, at 61 years old, continues to perform his own stunts, risking life and limb to create an unforgettable experience, and it shows. The passion in these films is unmatched in the industry. Despite its age, the franchise keeps improving, which is rare in Hollywood, where many series become formulaic and uninspired.”

One cinema-goer hailed it as “truly a modern masterpiece.”

Meanwhile, another viewer gushed: “What an absolute masterpiece of a movie this was. It was action packed and thrilling throughout. All of the actors/actresses were amazing Including the amazingly talented Tom Cruise. I can’t wait for part two to see what happens when they find that submarine.”

A fan left a glowing five star review, asserting: “Some say this might be the best action movie ever. Damsels in distress, others that kick butt and take names.”

Their praise did not end there: “It was really thrilling, with well paced action and well placed exhibition scenes. Tom Cruise still seems sprightly, but there’s power in his moves, something Harrison Ford can’t do without special effects. The stunt work was incredible and I often thought the stars were in real peril while making this, and loving every scene.”

Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning is streaming on Netflix.
