Just scraping a place in the top five is Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. The novel became even more popular after it was turned into a popular film starring Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart.
It follows the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan who falls in love with a teenage vampire who’s been hiding his identity for more than a century.
The star-crossed lovers explore their unconventional attraction, touching on themes of forbidden love, free choice, and morality. Published in 2005, Twilight became an immediate best-seller.
