This seaside town is one that is loved by many Brits but it’s also good enough for royalty. Polzeath on Cornwall’s North Coast might be a small village but it’s a charming place for a holiday. The village is known for its sandy beaches and blue waters – it’s a popular spot for surfing and has attracted a celebrity crowd.

Prince Harry and William are among the big names who have visited, first as young teenagers and then again as adults.Prince William visited during his stag do and, before they married, Prince Harry enjoyed a weekend there with Meghan.

The village is surrounded by beautiful coastal walks, including the scenic South West Coast Path, which provides breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Polzeath’s sandy beach is perfect for families, with safe swimming and plenty of space for sunbathing. For nature enthusiasts, nearby Pentire Point offers a more secluded experience, with rocky outcrops and coastal wildlife.

The village also has a variety of cafes, restaurants, and pubs, serving fresh seafood and local produce.

In the summer, Polzeath is bustling with visitors but it retains a relaxed and friendly feel.

Whether you’re looking to surf, hike, or just unwind by the sea, Polzeath is an ideal destination for a coastal retreat.

One visitor on Tripadvisor who took a coastal walk in the area said: “Gorgeous walk from national trust car park. A lovely cafe and there are also toilets. Followed the footpath to the Rumps and was lucky enough to see dolphins and a Seal tucked in the cove.”

Another penned: “One of the best walks – having done a few walks in Cornwall this is most certainly one of the best, not hard just a fairly gentle one but the stunning cliffs are worth it.”

If you’re looking for somewhere to spend a staycation, this pretty part of Cornwall could be the perfect spot for you.
