The music teacher for the UK’s 2025 Eurovision entry, who gave their band their name to remind them to ‘Remember Monday’ lessons – has reassured Britons we’re in “safe hands”. Remember Monday’s line-up of Charlotte Steele, Lauren Byrne and Holly-Anne Hull all met at sixth-form college in Farnborough, Hampshire, in 2013 where they would perform cover songs.

Later they brought their three-part harmonies to The Voice UK in 2019, where they were coached by Jennifer Hudson but eliminated before the final. Now – after quitting their West End jobs in 20233 and unveiled as the UK’s entry for Eurovision – their old sixth-form performing arts and music teacher has reassured fans that we are all in safe hands.

Jenii Luperi, originally from Cannock, Staffs but taught in Farnborough, told BBC Radio Stoke she often had to track down the girls to tell them, “Remember, it’s Monday, we have class” – which inspired the band’s name.

Now the band are preparing to head to Switzerland this May with a song called What The Hell Just Happened?, she added: “UK, we are in safe hands.

“They are going to deliver. They do every time because they are so good and have worked so hard for so long.

“I’m so thrilled. These three are just the nicest, humblest, most hard-working girls you’ll ever meet.

“They’ve been doing this for a long time and they’ve really worked hard to get the recognition.”

Ms Luperi described the trio’s Eurovision song as having a musical theatre and country vibe with “a splash of Eurovision pop”.

“It’s catchy and you’ll be singing it all week. It will drive you crazy in the best possible way,” she added.

Vocals on the track are really challenging and demanding, she says, but the trio nailed them because they are “so naturally talented”.

“Any live performance they do, they will be spot on every single time because they’re so good at what they do,” Ms Luperi said.

Following the announcement, Remember Monday said being the first all-female band to represent the UK since 1999 was “such a crazy honour”.

“We’re going to bring loads of fun, energy and hopefully do something that you won’t have seen before on the Eurovision stage,” they added.

The Eurovision Song Contest will be held at the St Jakobshalle arena in Basel, Switzerland, between 13 and 17 May.
