You have incredible eyesight if you can spot the money in this optical illusion | Weird | News

Optical illusions are both intriguing and frustrating. The simple, yet clever, images are designed to put our powers of perception to the test and are often more than they seem at first glance.

This mind-bending swirl illusion is one such head-scratcher featuring a hidden message that you’ll need really good eyesight to see.

The image has been designed by UK bingo site tombola and is inspired by its partnership with ITV’s hit game show ‘Deal or No Deal’.

Hidden amongst the distorted red and black wavy lines are two mystery sums of money which viewers are challenged to find.

According to tombola, the average person will take more than 52 seconds to locate the hidden cash, while two in five who have attempted to find the cash total have given up completely.

So what are the numbers disguised among the swirls? Well, if you look closely at the top half of the image you should be able to spot a pound sign just above swirls in the centre.

Once you’ve picked out the pound sign, you should then be able to pick out the three digits that follow it to reveal £250.

As for the second cash sum, this is hidden in the bottom half of the image and is much larger, making it a bit trickier to spot.

The easiest way to find it is by looking in the very centre of the image and following the spirals downwards. You should notice a slight distortion in the lines to reveal the number five.

From here, if you look to the left you should be able to pick out a large pound sign, while to the right of the five you’ll find a zero disguised at the far side of the picture, making the hidden value £50.

That makes the total hidden cash value £300. If you’re still struggling to pick the numbers out, have a look at the solution below.

Frustrating as they may be, optical illusions can supposedly reveal things about our personality based on how we think.

How we interpret an image is said to indicate whether we are more right or left-brain oriented, which in turn can determine our personality traits.

It is said that the left side of the brain is more analytical, verbal and orderly, so people who are more left-oriented tend to be very logical and pay close attention to detail.

By comparison, the right side of the brain is said to be more creative, visual and intuitive, with people who favour this side typically being good at more artistic tasks, such as reading and writing.
