The recent launch of the Sky Glass gen 2 has put another swanky gogglebox on shoppers radars. An upgrade from its previous model is now offers an enhanced quality display and boosted speaker system – and now comes with an unexpected, but welcomed, discount, that cuts £144 off your bill.

In a hidden sale, the Sky Ultimate TV package, which new customers can pair with the Glass TV, has been slashed from £28 per month to just £22. Totalling £144 over the course of the 24-month plan – making it one of the most affordable times to buy it.

Sky shoppers can find the discounted Ultimate TV package by navigating from the Sky Glass TV page, after selecting your preferred device colour (volcanic grey, arctic silver or atlantic blue) and screen size, simply click ‘continue’ and ‘add your TV channels’.

Sky’s Ultimate TV package is currently available at a significantly reduced price of £22 for those willing to commit to a 24-month minimum term. For those who prefer not to be tied down, there’s a flexible rolling option priced at £25 per month, down from the usual £31, reports The Mirror.

The new Sky Glass gen 2’s switch to Quantum Dot 4K HDR means viewers can enjoy a crisper, brighter screen, with details that make it more vibrant than ever before. And another one is on the cards with the imminent arrival of the Sky Glass Air.

If you’ve been contemplating getting a Sky Glass TV, its improved speaker system and personalised viewing experience are compelling reasons to purchase it, and there’s one Sky TV plan we’d recommend pairing with it.

New Sky Glass customers can also opt for the Essential TV plan, which costs just £15 per month over a minimum 24-month contract. These deals come as Virgin Media quietly introduces a lower price for its rival Bigger Combo Bundle, now at £34.99 per month, which includes M350 broadband and more than 200 TV channels.

The best Sky TV package to pair with the new Sky Glass gen 2 will depend on individual viewing preferences and budget. If cost is a concern, the £15 per month Essential TV plan could be the best fit, adding up to £360 on top of the Sky Glass TV price.

However, the Ultimate TV plan is currently on offer, allowing shoppers to save £144 off the usual price as it drops to £22. Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty…the channels and content. The Essential TV plan is a fantastic option for basic streamers, offering a variety of channels (100) at a rather reasonable price – it also includes Sky Atlantic, Discovery+, and a basic Netflix account.

The Sky Ultimate TV package offers everything the Essential TV plan does and more. In addition to the above, the Ultimate TV plan comes with 40 extra premium channels and includes Sky Max and Sky Witness.

This gives viewers a substantial selection of documentaries and sci-fi. Features of the Sky Glass gen 2 TV. The new Quantum Dot 4K HDR display makes colours burst to life, with content appearing richer, brighter, and far more vibrant than before.

The Dolby Atmos-powered soundbar is impressive, eliminating the need for viewers to have a separate speaker system to enhance their boxsets – if you were in the market for a new soundbar, Samsung are giving them away for free in a competing TV deal, which you can find here.

The upgrade ensures that any content viewed on the Sky Glass sets will appear fresher, sharper and brighter. The devices also offer a personalised viewing experience, with the smart models identifying what’s being viewed and ‘optimising the picture and sound’ accordingly.

The recent launch has certainly piqued the interest of many TV enthusiasts over the past few days, albeit not without its share of drawbacks. One such issue being highlighted is its choice of screen as Sky opted for a Quantum Dot 4K instead of the rumoured OLED.

While this does offer a brighter viewing experience, it doesn’t quite match up to the standards set by flagship OLEDs from giants like Samsung and LG.
