Video footage has captured the horrific moment two Russian oil tanker drivers accidentally blew themselves up.
CCTV images show the two drivers working on the rear of the tanker, as they try to fix a problem.
They were reported to be carrying out welding work on the vehicle, while it still had fuel in it.
All of a sudden, a huge explosion rips through the tanker, killing both men instantly.
They disappear under a ball of flames and thick smoke while a deafening roar can be heard.
Meanwhile, an R-27 guided air-to-air missile fell within 100 metres of a building complex in the village of Nikolskoye, located in Russia’s Belgorod region.
The missile was fired by a Russian fighter jet and is just the latest incident in a series of friendly-fire fiascos in areas bordering Ukraine.
Fortunately, there were no reports of fatalities or casualties as a result of the misfiring missile.
Since the beginning of the year, Russian planes have dropped around 17 bombs and three missiles on Russian territory and in the occupied areas of Ukraine, according to the Telegram channel Astra.
This includes a UMPB-250 “smart” bomb that almost wiped out a village, also in the Belgorod region.
The UMPB-250 uses the same warhead as a Soviet-era FAB-250 but is designed to be “smart” and “glide” with a navigation module integrated with steering, antennas, and a turbojet power unit.
Astra also claims that around 165 bombs were dropped on Russian settlements by Putin’s air force in 2024.
