Russian pilots have written a message to their president Vladimir Putin over a bomb set to be dropped on Ukrainian forces.
On the side of the bomb, the Russian pilots demanded that they receive their “bonuses” which had not yet been paid.
The message read: “Dear Ministry of Defense, I’m an FAB with UMPK.
“Soon I will fly to destroy occupiers in Kursk Oblast. I’m upset for my crew, they have not received bonus pay for counterterrorist operations since August. Sort it out! P.S. You can make mistakes, but you can’t lie.”
The Russian pilots have been hitting Ukrainian forces with airstrikes as they try to drive Kyiv’s men out of Kursk, an area of Russia invaded by Ukraine’s forces earlier this year.
The images was shared by X account War Translated, who said: “Well that’s a new one.”
He added that the pilots were angry “about lack of bonus pay for bombing their own country.”
In recent weeks, Russian forces have managed to push back the Ukrainian forces that made their way into Kursk.
Western allies are now concerned about the arrival of North Korean troops in Ukraine and Russia.
According to reports, North Korean soldiers will arrive in Kursk on Thursday.
Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, said: “We are waiting for the first units tomorrow in the Kursk direction. We will see after a couple of days.”
North Korea has denied sending troops to help Russia, calling the recent reports “groundless rumors.”
The US has warned Russia that the North Korean soldiers reportedly arriving in Ukraine are “fair game” adding it “will not stand by and do nothing.”
National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said on Wednesday: “They’re fair game. They’re fair targets and the Ukrainian military will defend themselves against North Korean soldiers the same way they’re defending themselves against Russian soldiers.
“There could be dead and wounded North Korean soldiers fighting against Ukraine.”
