Amazon has cut almost 25% off a smart TV to the cheapest price we’ve ever seen in its latest tech deal. The 65” TCL PF650K 4K Ultra HD smart TV has been discounted to £385.20, a saving of £113.80 and 23% off the usual £499.
According to price tracker camelcamelcamel, this is the lowest price ever offered for the TV, while there’s also discounts on the smaller models, including the 43” at £205.20 and 50” at £241.19. The TCL device – which launched in 2024 – has earned the Amazon’s Choice label, which the brand applies to ‘highly rated, well-priced products’ that are ready to ship ‘immediately’.
The smart TV boasts clear 4K UHD picture quality with enhanced contrast, colours and details with High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Dolby Vision, which expand the range of contrast and colours and display even smaller details. There’s also immersive audio thanks to its Dolby Atmos-powered surround sound.
With this TV, there’s instant access to countless films and TV shows on major streaming apps like Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer and YouTube, as well as hands free control with Alexa. This allows you to adjust the volume, change channels or control compatible smart home devices with the sound of your voice.
When used for gaming, the TCL device employs Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) to automatically reduce input lag for a smooth experience. The TCL PF650K has achieved a 4.2-star rating after more than 1,700 reviews.
One happy customer said: “I cannot believe the picture quality on this TV. Even more so for the price of it. The HDR is amazing. Black is deep black/ The overall picture quality definitely stands toe to toe with some of the top name brands. The sound is up there with the added Dolby Atmos. I give this a strong 10/10 for the price.”
Another said: “Absolute bargain. The picture on my old TV was not great. I decided to take a chance on this one, the price and reviews swung it for me. It’s amazing value for money and the picture and sound quality is perfect. It is very lightweight, easy to set up and the remote control is sturdy and easy to use. My son is a Samsung man, he thinks this is better than his expensive curved model. I would 100% recommend it.”
A third satisfied shopper said: “Phenomenal value. I’ve got an LG OLED so wasn’t expecting too much, my expectations were in line with the price. However the TV is fantastic. Out of the box set up takes a little while as the UI is slow but HD and 4K content looks great. This isn’t as far behind OLED as I thought. Freely HD freeview over WiFi looks great, sharp and detailed. Remote is simple to use. People have mentioned the speakers aren’t great but they are no worse than the ones on my £2,500 OLED.”
However, despite hailing the TCL smart TV as ‘good value’, a less-impressed buyer noted it can be ‘slow’. They said: “I am generally pleased; the picture quality is very good on 4K. However, it is sometimes so slow to respond when you press buttons on the remote. You will be trying to make a selection on the screen and nothing happens, so you press the button again and then it registers the first selection and makes a second selection on the next screen you haven’t seen yet.”
For shoppers looking to upgrade their TV without paying too much upfront, it’s worth taking a look at the latest Sky Glass sale. Sky has cut £96 off its entire Sky Glass TV range, with plans now starting at £27 when spreading the cost.
As well as a 4K smart TV, this also provides access to more than 100 channels, as well as subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.
