Prince George ‘still not comfortable’ with one part of Royal life | Royal | News

Prince George is reportedly not fully at ease with one element of Royal life, in stark contrast to his more media-friendly sister Princess Charlotte, according to observations from a Royal expert.

Although future Prince of Wales has been seen at many public events, including attending the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France with his father, William, some concerns have been raised about his comfort with the spotlight.

William and George appeared together at the Stade de Marseille for the quarter-final game against Argentina, marking the young royal’s first international sporting event watched live abroad.

Later, George joined his father at Wembley, witnessing the presentation of the FA Cup to Manchester United as winners in May last year.

Despite these high-profile appearances, journalist Roya Nikkhah suggests that the young prince isn’t fully “comfortable” with media attention, reports Cambridgeshire Live.

On The Royals with Roya and Kate podcast, Nikkhah, who is The Times’ Royal editor, mentioned George’s understandable reticence when faced with cameras and reporters.

Her colleague, Kate Mansey, assistant editor at The Times, expressed eagerness to see Prince George undertake additional Royal engagements, as the discussion turned towards the monarchy’s prospect under Princes William and George.

Roya replied to this by admitting: “He has done some already, he’s been at the rugby a few times. I’ve been at the rugby with him and he’s still not totally comfortable in front of the cameras and in front of the media.”

She empathised with the young prince, adding: “I don’t blame him, he’s got a lifetime of it ahead of him.”

However, the pair noted that Princess Charlotte’s ease with attention starkly contrasts her brother’s shyness, highlighting her influence within the Royal family. Royal commentators have previously touched on Charlotte’s sway in the household, particularly after Prince William shaved his beard in November.

Roya revealed the backstory of William’s decision to go clean-shaven, explaining it was Princess Charlotte who instigated the change. “When he first grew his beard, Princess Charlotte hated it so much, she burst into tears and he shaved it off. Which, I think tells you a lot, tells us a lot about how much power Charlotte wields in the Royal household.”

While Queen Camilla may be referred to as ‘the lady boss’ behind closed doors, it seems Charlotte is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. “They call Queen Camilla ‘the lady boss’ in private circles, but I think Charlotte’s coming for crown.”
