Mike quickly responded: “Sometime this summer.”

At this early stage, there is no information on what vehicles could be worked on under the new series.

Before the New Year, Mike confirmed he was meeting with show bosses to discuss plans for a new programme but did not share key details with his fans.

However, the Wheeler Dealers host confirmed he had the final say on what models he and co-host Marc Priestley build on the programme.

Asking on social media, Dr Kafir C Sharp said: “Hi Mike. Who has the final say on which cars you have on the show?”

In a short response, Mike quickly confirmed: “Me.”

Earlier this month, Mike confirmed he would be putting together a new UK series later this year.

Speaking on The Road to Success podcast, he revealed: “We will, of course, do a UK show because this is our territory; it’s cheaper and easiest for us to film here.”

However, Mike also stressed he was working on a second season of ‘Wheeler Dealers: World Tour’ after a successful debut last year.

He said crews would visit several countries with pre-filming already underway in Turkey.

There are also plans to visit the Czech Republic, Sweden and even a show looking at the best of German manufacturing.

Mike explained: “This time we are going to Mexico, Brazil, Turkey.

“We sit with a map and Discovery executives and we’ll work out the regions where the show is popular.

“So Mexico, Brazil, or Latin America, it’s a very big show. It’s very popular. It’s also very popular in North America but we’ve done it to death.”
