Kamala Harris made a silent statement with her body language during Donald Trump’s inauguration address today according to a body language exoert. As Trump took a significant portion of his speech – which was notably low-energy due to inauguration changes – to criticise the previous administration, both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris remained seated.
Mark Bowden revealed that Harris’ decision to stay seated was a powerful response to Trump’s ‘betrayal’ of the last presidency. Mark explained that Harris was visibly angry at Trump’s comments about the previous administration.
Bowden said: “Yes, Biden and Harris side of the aisle staying seated. But this should be expected, especially since Trump took time to declare the last presidency as a betrayal.” Trump declared in his inauguration address: “My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal and all of these many betrayals that have taken place – and to give the people back their faith, their democracy and, indeed, their freedom.”
Bowden also noted that Trump’s inauguration speech was unlike most of his public addresses due to its “low energy”. “He has lower energy because he has to stick with the speech and not free-wheel it. His natural speech is very repetitive. There is no repetition in this,” he added. Bowden noted that Trump adhered to the speech due to its historical significance, reports Irish Star.
“Teleprompters are set up for Trump in the hope that he will stick to the pre-written speech,” Bowden stated. He further observed that it was evident Trump was reading from the teleprompter, stating: “He’s clearly reading from the script.”
